CNC router kits
A kit is not a discounted machine. It is a box of parts whose final accuracy depends on how well you square, shim and tune it — which is genuinely satisfying, and genuinely a weekend.
What separates a good kit from a bad one is not the price. It is whether the parts are the ones you would have chosen anyway, and whether the instructions exist in a language you read.

What we check before you pay
Rails and screws are where kits economise
Round rail on open bearings is cheaper and less rigid than profile rail on blocks. Rolled ballscrew is cheaper and less accurate than ground. Neither is wrong for every job; both are worth knowing about before the box arrives.
The controller is often the weakest part
A kit built around a no-name board with proprietary firmware limits you later. Knowing whether it is standard GRBL, a Mach3 breakout or something bespoke decides whether you can upgrade or have to replace.
Documentation, and what language it is in
Some kits ship with a wiring diagram and a build video; some ship with a QR code to a dead link. We ask for the actual documentation before purchase and tell you what it is.
Upgrade before you build, not after
Replacing a spindle or a screw on the bench is an hour. Replacing it after assembly is a teardown. If the kit has a weak part you intend to change, change it in the order.
The machine you build is an assembled machine
For a workplace rather than a home shop, self-assembly shifts responsibility for the finished machine onto you, including guarding and the stop circuit.
How an order runs

- Upgrades folded into the order Spindle, screws, rails or controller swapped at source so you build once.

- Quote and approval Kit, upgrades, tooling, crating, freight and duty, itemised.
- Ship as one consignment Kit and upgrade parts consolidated so you are not paying freight twice or waiting on a second box.
